There's an old saying where there is a will there is a way. Well, this I find is true in the most simple of lives. And it's root lies in the fact that the world one that is being constantly being made if not already existing. So when we talk about absolute truths there is area of discussion that is up for discussion solely by virtue of the fact that at all points in time something has to make sense which is doesn’t happen the whole world falls apart and you’re left with literally absolutely nothing. In this search for something to always make sense by, we kinda find ourselves in a jam sometimes and just believe the safest, fastest and easiest thing to believe.
So in such situations - if they make up your life or when you're in dire need of such things you don’t get them - you get used to absolutely ridiculous beliefs that for some reason never let go of you (they virtually exist in the sub conscious and are born out of there and work out of there).
So if you are hell bent on proving something, or believing something or making a stand that makes no sense by whatever standards then you always will coz "what a fool believes no wise man has the power to reason away".
P.S:- The only contention here is who exactly a fool is, in whose eyes and according to what standards? If we are better off finding the way that is meant for us maybe being "fooled" is what is “required". As Geoffrey Rush says in POTC 3, "to be discovering a new land you have to be lost first, otherwise the land won’t be new" or something like that
